Karen Rudy passed away Nov. 24, 2023, at the age of 81. She was born Nov. 1, 1942, in Echo. Karen grew up in Belview, and graduated from Belview High School before continuing on to Mankato State University where she received her degree in elementary education. Karen met Bruce Rudy during their high school years. They were married at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belview Sept. 22, 1962. They lived in Fairfax until 1968 when they relocated to Sauk Rapids and raised their family. Karen worked as a special education teacher for three years followed by several years of substitute teaching. While in Sauk Rapids, she provided day care for numerous families. After their children were grown, she went on to become a financial analyst at Bankers Systems in St Cloud. Bruce and Karen retired to their lake home in Alexandria in 1997.
