Noreen Rynea Thiel, 75, of Sauk Rapids, went to heaven due to stubbornness and complications from pneumonia Nov. 13, 2021, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Services will be noon Wednesday, Nov. 24, at St. Augustine Church, 441 Second St. S.E., St. Cloud, MN 56304. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. to noon with a luncheon to follow.

Noreen was born July 9, 1946 in Minneapolis, to Dorothy Scharver (Freeman, Hallberg, Franklin) and Rudy Scharver. She married John Thiel April 24, 1971, and had three sons. John Scharver, Timothy Scharver and Vincent Thiel. She lived most of her life in Minneapolis with a brief few years in Staples around 1979-80 and 1983-84 before moving to Sauk Rapids in 2007. She lived at Granite Care Home where she became very close with her housemates and staff.

Noreen took great pride in her family. She loved to make cards, jewelry and many other crafts to give away as gifts to friends, family and occasionally random strangers she just met. She had a heart of gold, always smiling with a contagious laugh that usually followed. She really enjoyed dancing and listening to music. She was what you would call a real people person. Loving everyone she knew and always complimenting them on whatever they were wearing or hairstyle of the day. When visiting her, she would make sure she offered you something to eat or drink to make sure her guests were comfortable.

Noreen’s memory will be cherished by her son and daughter-in-law Vince and Trisha Thiel; daughter-in-law Renee Graf; grandchildren Alyssa Grunwald, Andrea Scharver, Cassidy Thiel (fiancé Jacob) and Autumn Bragelman (Andrew); great-grandchildren Axel, Phoenix, Eowyn, Freya and Fiana; brother Terrence Hallberg (Cathy); sister-in-law Elaine Hallberg; and many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her husband John Thiel; sons John Scharver and Timothy Scharver; mother Dorothy Franklin; fathers Rudy Scharver and James Franklin; sisters Ruth Brooks and Lavonne Lattie; brothers Charles Hallberg and Dale Scharver.
