Patrick Eugene Dyrland, 82, of Casa Grande, Arizona, went to be with the Lord Nov. 13, 2021, after suffering from the effects of dementia.

Pat was born in La Veta, Colorado, Feb. 15, 1939, to Helen Linscott. Upon her death in 1946, Blaine and Dorothy (Bob) Dyrland, adopted him. Pat grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa. He graduated in 1958 from Marshalltown High School. After high school, he spent summers working at his parents resort in Bemidji and earned an Associate of Arts degree from Marshalltown Junior College. In 1962, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served until 1966.

Pat married Beverly Trygstad June 6, 1964, in Florence, South Dakota, Pat and Bev lived the majority of their married life in Sauk Rapids. He was employed at Eye Kraft Optical from 1968 to his retirement in 2001. From 2006 on, time was spent between Sauk Rapids in the summers and Casa Grande in the winters. Pat enjoyed the outdoors with fishing, hunting and any sport with a ball. He was an avid golfer with three hole-in-ones and could be found on a golf course most days of the week. Pat and Bev have one daughter, Laurissa Dyrland Stewart.

Pat is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bev, of Casa Grande, Arizona; daughter and son-in-law, Laurissa and Todd Stewart of Andover; granddaughters Britta Ahlstrand, Annika Ahlstrand and Alia Stewart, and grandson Trygg Stewart. He is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law: Barb and Tony Fox (Arizona), Beth and Jim Thoreson (South Dakota), Geeg and Dave Anderson (North Dakota), Rick and Lori Trygstad (Iowa) and Rose and Loren Fleming (South Dakota) and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 4 at Living Waters Lutheran Church, Sauk Rapids with visitation one hour before.  Final resting will take place Dec. 9 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
